It is not the computer, but the software. Any processor with a large hard drive that is reasonably fast works well. Any good processor today is functionally obsolete in less than five years, so plan on a replacement which will give you both speed and storage for less. Also, buy a great monitor...

I have bad news for you. Any small business will quickly turn into a 7x24 until you build a reasonable organization. Then it becomes 5x12 until you can grow it to hire your replacement manager. I have done this a couple of times (successfully) and loved doing it. If you are not up to this...

It is not a camera issue. It is the lens you use. And, selecting the lens is a function of where and how you are shooting your portraits.
