I always get a deposit before we start work. My business is mostly direct sales but when someone comes from out of our area I demand payment in full before we start the order. We also have the recourse to repossess the sale due to non payment. We them charge a pick up and resetting fee that must be paid in full before we do that. Thee always some that pass through the cracks but we really try to get the payment. On average we only get 1 or 2 a year that we need to take further action on.
