How We Got Started
After I completed my hitch in the US Air Force, I got started in my own business providing B2B services as a writer. Both my parents were writers. I simply have a writing nature! I love to write.
I was a Girl Scout starting in the 1960's and stayed in scouting for 14 years in Arizona where I grew up. I am a trainer by nature and trained many girls in self-reliance (DIY) skills.
I am a trained AWAI copywriter and a neuromarketer. I have advanced SEO keyword research training and train people in how to find their market audience and how to serve them well.
I am also an Independent Marketing Strategist. I show you how to build long-term customer relationships. Our training sessions together show you how to become friends with customers so they see you as someone who can give them the secrets to live their life dreams!

When I create market research reports for my clients, my basic report takes me about 3 - 4 hours. I estimate the information to be relevant and useful for up to 6 months. Because the markets fluidly change, it's necessary to do regular market research. But it is also necessary to do in-depth market research covering social media content as well. As a lead generation coach, copywriter and marketing strategist, the number one mistake I see people make is marketing to themselves as the ideal prospect. They frequently talk too much about what they offer instead of answering burning questions in the mind of their prospects. Once you start seeing story situations using your product or service, from your ideal prospect's viewpoint (also called a customer avatar) , you can more clearly provide information your competitors can't share. That's because you are seeing things from the market audience's perspective. Essentially you are "in their head" rather than in yours which is how you use a different way of seeing things. What does that sound like? What kind of clothes are you wearing? What keeps you awake at night? What really matters to you? What do you dance like? Do you complain a lot? Are you a perfectionist? Are you a tyrant? Are you a show off? Are you a touchy-feeling type? BE your ideal prospect. How is BEING your ideal prospect different from being the business entrepreneur that you are? It is very helpful to do this exercise. My students tell me it makes them get out of their comfort zone but it also helps them know how to write better marketing copy!

In our Ohio libraries the everyday community member comes into the library to share information, "how to" demonstrations for different community interest topics or something that improves the lives of the local patrons. Is it that way with your local libraries? If so, I encourage you to offer to do presentations on how to do your particular type of art. This lets people know you are in the area and available to sell your art. You can't sell anything in the library but letting people know you are available is a great way to network FOR FREE.

Through Alignable I met and developed a business relationship with, Gale Glassner Twersky. Both being complimentary health enthusiasts and professional hypnotherapists, we shared information about complimentary health ideas for natural wellness. Over several weeks’ time, we would touch base with one another.
During one such visit, I began telling Gale about a most amazing situation in which I found myself. I started telling Gale about Wayne’s McClelland’s story.
Briefly, Wayne’s wife Jan swears she never posted on Facebook that her husband had just had a stroke and was looking for help. But somehow, I heard about it. We still can’t figure out who (perhaps God?) or what brought us together.
Look at the x-ray picture below. It is an image of Wayne’s completely blocked left carotid artery. It was too clogged for him to be a candidate for the clot busting medicine to save his life. That’s why doctors didn’t have a medical solution for him.
Anyway, when I heard what Jan and Wayne needed, I asked Jan if she would be open to complimentary medicine for natural stress reduction for her husband. She welcomed any help she could get.
In addition to being a copywriter and marketing strategist, I am also a complimentary medicine stress reduction coach. I work with people around the world. I have worked with people in coma, brain injury (TBI), PTSD, stroke recovery and just everyday stresses experienced by everyday folks. But this story is unique in that I really don’t know how I came to learn about Wayne’s stroke.
Wayne is still alive today more than 2 years after he first had his stroke. Getting through the worst of his entire situation, including coming back from speech aphasia, Wayne, Jan and I continue to stay in touch.
I am grateful to Gale and her business partner Janet Zipper for helping spread the word there are alternative health ways for supporting stroke recovery. I am also grateful that Gale responded to my request to connect. Up until this time neither one of us knew we existed. So glad we connected through Alignable! It really pays to network.
Just so whomever is reading this post understands, I do nothing medical. The natural stress reduction techniques I teach my clients to do all have to do with working with their body’s natural energy system.
