Seasonal help for us isn't at holiday time, we hold 5 regional consumer events throughout the country and need help on location . Rather than trying to hire at each location, we hire and fly people (that understand our industry) to the event. Basically we hire former industry professionals or...

Seasonal help for us isn't at holiday time, we hold 5 regional consumer events throughout the country and need help on location . Rather than trying to hire at each location, we hire and fly people (that understand our industry) to the event. Basically we hire former industry professionals or former customers looking for a working vacation. Some have been to over 30 of our events as weekend employees, and most do it for extra cash and to be a part of the excitement.
We offer a worthy salary for the weekend, as the hours can be long and slightly stressful, after a couple shows these people become confident and experienced enough to make decisions on their own. there are few people who do not ask to return.
As a former Florist, I would hire college students and retired folks for deliveries, former florists and maybe a clerical pro to work on the phones and workroom. I never hired friends or family, as the stress on our relationships wasn't beneficial to the business or our lives outside work.
They should be banned from the meeting completely to maintain focus...if notes need to be taken use a laptop or pen and paper.. then transcribe the info where needed afterward... it also will help you remember what's important

It depends on your product. in my previous line of retail work, we made things to order, so my competitors couldn't reproduce my offerings exactly. I always sold service and originality along with pricing. I always reminded the customer that I stood behind my product and its QUALITY!

There is no guarantee... you need to maintain the level of service you I have been providing, continue to invest and personal interaction, and make each customer feel important.
It's all about integrity—in product, service, and hospitality. Eye contact can often seal the deal when you greet...
