"WateRx is a company that specialized in designing and installing whole-project water filtering systems for restaurants. We completed a coffee shop/restaurant/grocery that demanded triple-filtered water for their coffee system. Richard was delightful to work with. "

No support from vendors, even our main supplier that we’ve maintained for 34 years. If you’ve purchased raw materials, then the bill is due regardless of the pandemic. They still have to pay their suppliers too; it’s a trickle down/ripple effect. However, service providers such as insurance companies, have extended payment due dates and have even back-ended payments. Our building liability/fire/business insurance package renewed in April. With a $40,000 annual premium, they still want a $14,000 premium down payment. They unilaterally extended payment due dates 60 days, however the bill still remains due.

We received both our CARES funds and the EIDL grant directly deposited into our business account at 2:00 am this morning. We got in under the wire one day before the first round of congressional funding ran dry. It took two weeks to receive an email with the documents to sign electronically and then received the funds literally 12 hours after signing.
You will not receive an email telling you the funds are in your account; you just have to keep checking through your banking app. You will see two separate payments. The PPP comes from the Treasury Dept and the EIDL comes from the SBA.

My husband and I own a high-end cabinetmaking and mill shop in Philadelphia, in business for 39 years, after starting it ourselves while in our early 20’s. We’ve been through all this before, especially the Great Recession, and as a result of scores of our competition going out of business, we were able to pretty much be the last man standing. Our secret was to diversify with passive income through residential and commercial rental properties. It’s what saved us then and what is saving us now. Plus not paying rent by owning the building and having 95% of the leases on our computerized woodworking machinery paid off is really helping now. Another big plus is to have a really personal relationship with bankers. Every time we needed capital expenditures or construction loans, we hosted our bankers with a home-made gourmet lunch in our showroom kitchen. People may forget what you said, but they never forget the food you make for them! So those personal relationships really pay off. We applied for the CARES Act funding the same day our bank was online with it. Today was a week and I hadn’t heard anything so I called my banker on his cell. He picked up on one ring, looked for my application in his queue and found it. He told me he would call me back in a half hour. He called me back with the good news that he had approved our application and expedited over to the SBA. And then he reminded me that he couldn’t wait to come back for lunch when things get back to some sense of normalcy!
