Jamaican-born singer-songwriter Anakai Ney has been delighting audiences at festivals, corporate events, private parties, concerts and weddings for fifteen years. Her soulful voice is reminiscent of jazz-era artist Ella Fitzgerald and contemporary artist Whitney Houston. Her versatile repertoire includes music from the early jazz age, blues, contemporary ballads, spirituals, and modern pop. Anakai has been featured on local radio and TV broadcasts including the Sound Room and Nights with Nick led by radio show host Nick Lawrence of WEEU who dubbed her, “the girl with golden voice”. In recent years, Anakai has performed at Reading’s Fire and Ice Festival, Go Fourth!, and numerous local community events, theaters, and non-profit functions. Anakai continues to tour locally with numerous bands and has recently completed her debut solo-songwriting album entitled Father EP.
