And your best travel partner is your travel agent... ;)

As far as tips for disabled travelers - I would make sure they understand what is required of them during the trip and discuss/decide what their limitations are.  Making sure they consult with their physician long before they even book the trip, is another great suggestion.

My goodness, I really paid attention...I'm in FL and you're in MA...some of the info I gave is irrelevant, because you are not local to the Tampa area.  I keep forgetting that Alignable is all over the place...! Not to mention the 11 unique restaurants, 6 bars serving top shelf beverages, tennis and scuba diving. A wonderful spa - styled vacation. Coming in a close second would be the Beaches All-Inclusive Resort on the Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.  The resort has the largest waterpark (45,000 feet) in the Caribbean with Pirates Island; you can mingle with the Sesame Street characters, taste something interesting in any one of 21 restaurants, stay in one of five different resort villages, the waters are so spectacular - the diving is awesome - it just goes on and on. That makes for great family fun! Wanna go?  Call us and we will be happy to help make those reservations...by the way, Sandals has the only Caribbean over-the-water bungalows - sound romantic?  Yea!

(more) I remember well...Getting certificates from Travel Agent University, Travel Agent Academy and the Travel Institute will be a step in the right direction as far as knowledge is concerned.  You'll at least and somewhat know what you are talking about; supplier training and ship inspections will help, as well.  As far as that first client, wait for it...wait for it...literally.  It will happen, you just don't know when you'll finally turn on that light bulb for someone.  Some say friends and family are the "go to" people to help you get started.  However, they know you - I mean really know you...they know you sleep in late on occasion, they know you drink beer...so they're not really prone to trust you with their travel arrangements.  They would rather go to Expedia or Carnival and do it themselves than let you do it for them.  And besides, aren't you going to give them a discount or will you charge them a fee?  There is a flip-side to that family, though...and they are warm and genuine and want to help - bless them! Do you see where I'm going with the family and friends thing?  You really can't win for losing.  Best bet is to attend events, set up a table and show off your specialty, talk with the attendees, make them feel comfortable with you and the way you do business.  And above all - do what you say and follow up...credibility is huge!
