We accept submissions from authors whose work is inspirational, motivational, and educational. Please see our submission guidelines for more information on the types of books we publish.

We also assist businesses with writing projects such as policy & procedure manuals. If you have items that you would like to put into book form for your business, we can help you put these together as well.

How We Got Started

My name is Rebecca Benston. I'm an author who became an independent publisher. I started out with a less than reputable publisher, but was later picked up by Stonegarden Publishing. Several years ago, Stonegarden closed its doors and I was left trying to decide if I should re-release the seven books I had already written or simply close up shop. I decided to open Books from Higher Ground and from there, I have added about 35 authors and over 70 titles. We are growing steadily and I look forward to working with more and more authors to get their stories out to the world.

How many were surveyed? This just shows percentages.  What was the total number surveyed by area?  I think I saw 3,814 but is that a national, regional, or local number.  Makes a big difference in the perception of the issue. There are many tools out there that can be helpful to businesses who need help with social media management.  The best place to start is YouTube.  Look for videos on social media marketing and take time to listen or watch while you work on other things.  Take notes.  Try things out.  Many of... (more) There are many tools out there that can be helpful to businesses who need help with social media management.  The best place to start is YouTube.  Look for videos on social media marketing and take time to listen or watch while you work on other things.  Take notes.  Try things out.  Many of these videos also provide links to services that you can try out for free.  One of the most valuable tools I use is Later.com.  It helps me to schedule my social media posts across four different platforms.  I go in every week and set up posts so that I don't have to worry about it through the week.  If you need help with this, whether it be setting up posts or creating content to post, I do offer social media marketing services as a certified Social Media Pro.  My rates are reasonable and I'm available now!  I can set up a one-time campaign or ongoing monitoring and posting services depending on your needs.  Get in touch today for more information!

I never change my prices based on my competitors. My prices are based on what I feel the value of the service is and on what I feel I bring to the table. If the customer decides to go with someone else, that is absolutely fine. Stay confident in your pricing strategies, customers may not see... (more) I never change my prices based on my competitors. Stay confident in your pricing strategies, customers may not see your willingness to change your price as a sign of credibility. If you see that you are consistently being outbid, you may want to re-evaluate your pricing. Maybe you have set your price too high to start with. Research the price ranges for similar services/products in your area. Factor in your experience and the quality of your product/service. Differences across the board should not be extreme. As a consumer, I simply don't like to be cultivated. I'm a single mother, so money is a factor when I am choosing a service provider for just about anything. As a business owner, however, I'm more likely to listen to a sales pitch just to see how the other business owner presents his or her material. Although I am not a fan of the hard sell, I will listen for the purposes of business research. It may or may not convince me to work with that business, but I will usually glean some value from the interaction.
