Located on West Main Street in Stamford, CT the gateway leading into the city's downtown area, the Jackie Robinson Park of Fame is a center of beauty, inspiration, and achievement. The educational programming will serve as a gateway to the future of our youth. Our programs can be modeled in Stamford and later replicated in other communities throughout the country.

In 1955, Jackie Robinson and his family moved to Stamford, CT and became an integral part of the community. Following Jackie's death in October 1972, the City of Stamford named a park Jackie Robinson Park. In 1995, the Connecticut Legislature designated the park as a stop on the Freedom Trail which officially opened in September 1996. Following the opening of the Trail, Cecelia and John DaRosa along with Yvonne Hill rededicated the park as the Jackie Robinson Park of Fame to re-emphasize its importance as one of the state’s sites associated with the heritage and movement towards freedom of Connecticut’s African American citizens for which Jackie had become a national icon. In March 1997, the business was registered with the internal revenue service as a non-profit 501c3 named Jackie Robinson Park of Fame, Inc.
