I’m on the fence about online reviews and how the public uses them.  Honestly, although they seem to be an integral part of every business’ marketing plan, I believe they receive too much weight.


My statement is based on the fact that not every customer is going to have a 5 star experience.  If 2 customers don’t, then the rating is skewed.  I think they’re helpful for business owners because they help identify problem areas and they’re a great opportunity for a business to engage with its community.

A less than 5-star review is a great opportunity for the business owner to shine. A lot of companies never respond to reviews. The ones that do, really stand out in a positive way.
