How We Got Started
I started Millennia Media, LLC, after I earned my MBA, marketing concentration, from DeSales University, in 2014. Social media hadn’t dominated the business marketing landscape, but I knew that it would and I wanted to be part of the disruption. Small and mid-level business owners are often overwhelmed. I want to help lessen the load, increase the probability of business success and help other owners.

I don’t necessarily research my competitors because there are so many. I do, however, listen to their approach, compare their services and check their offerings.

My statement is based on the fact that not every customer is going to have a 5 star experience. If 2 customers don’t, then the rating is skewed. I think they’re helpful for business owners because they help identify problem areas and they’re a great opportunity for a business to engage with its community.

Providing outstanding customer service. We listen to our clients, make sure we understand their needs and provide solutions that solve those problems. We achieve that goal by listening; asking questions and providing results reports regularly. We ensure they’re happy, throughout the process.

The first thing to do is identify your client. You can save valuable resources using that method. Identifying includes preferred method of communication, etc. Create a profile for that customer and THEN, start communicating. It takes a little time, but it increases conversion.

There are weekends? I thought those were cancelled. Seriously, it depends. If there's a deadline that needs to be met, then I work the weekend. I worked on a vacation once.

I understand you don’t have your photos to share and I’m so sorry your memories were lost. However, you can always share articles that pique your interest. Please credit the source, but if the article describes some place you’ve visited, share your story. We consumers LOVE stories.
Highlight your local travel specialty. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t book international travel. But, since you have a stronger knowledge base in domestic travel, flaunt it.
Finally, consider arranging little gatherings at local venues like senior centers, libraries and other low cost venues. You can share the services you provide and offer packages for domestic travel.
Starting a new business is daunting. There are days when you feel it’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve done in life. But, you sound like a lady who survives and thrives. Keep doing that. Good luck!
P.S. I agree with Jil McKellan. I’ve never used a travel agent based on his or her travels. To be honest, it’s never come up in conversation.
