The best way to appeal to businesses you're looking to work with is to bring some sort of value to the table. Focus more on what is in the best interest of that business over trying to sell them something. Offer free advice and make sure it is valuable and good advice that assists in meeting their goals and objectives. They will soon begin to see you as the expert in your industry. This will build trust and confidence in your abilities. If they feel you are knowledgeable and their best option for the types of products or services you provide, they are likely to go with you over the competitor. Build the relationship and the rest will come!

I think that your 90 minute seminar on essentially the first step to enhancing your Google presence is a great idea. However, by the end of the seminar, your attendees should feel that they’ve gained so much value that they want to go to the next step with you. At the end of your class, there should be a call to action to make a larger investment for custom or more in depth training. This should prompt them to immediately break out their wallets to reserve their spot in your advanced class. Creating a sense of urgency is key when you’re performing these types of trainings (i.e. “I’ve only got 5 spots left in the advanced training”, “I will only be offering this course for the next week, so reserve your spot before this series is discontinued”).
Performance for sure. We live in a society that vastly wants something in return for nothing. Employees want benefits and salaries, but lack a solid work ethic.

I created a wix website for my business and the built in SEO tools are driving traffic. However, you get out of it what you put in. You have to be willing to go through the SEO toolkit and make the adjustments to your site to ensure you’ve got it set up correctly (keywords, alt tags, descriptions, etc.) Marketing, website hosting preferences and lead generation aside, as a consumer, if I see a business on Google or Facebook and they do not have a website, I feel that it’s an indication of their lack of professionalism and move on to the next business who has a website I can visit. In my opinion, this is an indication of how they operate. Do they skip the essentials (such as a website) or do they cover all bases and thoroughly represent themselves to the public?

Because we have become an online reputation driven marketplace, I can see how social media could be perceived as hurting or hindering a business, especially if their profiles are littered with negative reviews. However, if the business is doing a good job, the negative reviews will be minimal. So it’s not really social media hurting the business, it’s the business hurting itself when it doesn’t provide quality services, products, etc.
