Increased returns, late payment, non-payment, accounting issues, getting paid, chasing your money, retailer filing bankruptcy, etc. I have seen this happen many times even with major retailers. My advice is do not do it. There is not enough upside outside of risk and headaches you expose yourself to. If you products sell, there is no reason to do a consignment deal. The customer can cut a PO and purchase your products. The only time it might make sense is for a small test to see if your products sell and are a good fit for the retailer. If they are, they can then purchase them in a traditional manner.
