But more importantly I saw the opportunity to share my experience as a VP and CMO of large organizations and help the smaller business understand that the principles and strategies are very much alike. Most of my client communication is via phone or email but I meet with each client personally at least once a year and some are monthly. (It's a must to read them first!) It allows us to schedule a couple of weeks in advance and have a regular cadence.

I have and continue to purchase lists for my large direct mail and digital clients through some of the major co-ops. The accuracy of the information is fine. That being said, for the small business, it is not only expensive but with the conversion rates where they typically are, the list size... That being said, for the small business, it is not only expensive but with the conversion rates where they typically are, the list size cost would exceed the budget of most. You also need to consider testing and needed automation. The spend is small enough that it may be worth the risk. It depends upon the average sale value of your product and how many it would take to break even. Keep expectations low.
