Being in media sales and marketing, anyone from crazy media business will understand this phrase.Things don't always go as planned in the advertising and marketing business, and it is important to keep a level head and realize that no one ever dies (nor a business) because of a human or technical error. Everyone lives, no matter what happens with the campaign!

Years, months, weeks and days. Depends on why there is a hold up to move forward. Sometimes the reasons for the hold up are due things beyond the decision maker's control, unforeseen happenings (hurricane, red tide, etc), and sometimes the client has had other priorities. The important thing is to gain agreement on what was presented, know where you are in the process, confirm next steps, and understand the process to secure the deal. It is my belief that short term thinking leads to short term results. Thus, it is not time that marks the progress of a sale, but a mutual understanding of what we will provide, and the value my service or product can add to their business. Once this is established, the next steps can be settled upon - in a short or longer period of time.
The way to get a review is to ask someone after they thank you for a job well done. People still make the difference in every transaction - nothing beats a personal connection by phone or email.

How they are different: one serves people, one serve consumers. Facebook is good for your B to C business and LinkedIn serves the B2B networking industry.
The answer to your question lies in the type of business you offer and the target customer.

I think social media's best value lies in networking - both professional and personal. However, social media can be used to help market a business from a branding standpoint, and depending on the product/service may generate interest, that eventually leads to a sale. Social media ads act like a commercial, interrupting your show, or capturing your attention, depending on the interest level of the person viewing the ad. In either case, the company's brand get viewed, and sometimes the viewer will click the ad and learn more. However, it is only a small part of strategic marketing plan and should not be relied to carry all sales efforts.

Closing line? Gosh, I certainly hope not. For me sales is about helping someone, a business or a customer solve a problem, creating value, or saving them time or money. It is a personal interaction to gain trust and respect and lead a discussion with insights, ideas and information. No lines are needed when you seek to understanding your client's needs, and see if you can help.
Ready to move forward? When you do you want to get started? Any other questions?
I don't consider these "closing lines" but rather the natural progression of questions and ideas in a sales process.
Sales is a lot like dancing, let the music (conversation) move you.
I always ask, who is the best person you ever worked for -and why? This provides some insight to how that person wants to be managed and they look for in a company.

My favorite question - biggest challenge they mastered, overcame or success story.
This is my favorite question, and often people will reveal more than you expect, allow themselves to be vulnerable and give you a deeper understanding of who they are...and what they value.
And of course, you can ask a more playful question, so they can feel at ease. Favorite movie? Sometimes this too can reveal their sense of humor, etc.
