Information Referral

Information and Referral (I&R): This service is available to anyone, regardless of disability or place of residence, and is provided in-person, by phone, or mail. Whenever possible, you will be provided with a variety of resource options. You can then choose which ones best meet your needs. This information is important because the person with the disability needs information about options, resources, and the issues that affect his/her ability to live independently. Referral assistance is also essential as achieving independence may require the involvement of one or more community agencies or organizations.

I&R services are also provided to other service organizations and the community. This assistance is instrumental in increasing public awareness of disability issues and knowledge of the services and resources available to people with disabilities from the center and the community.
