How We Got Started

So we all win. Clients have wonderful environments to work in and our cleaner learns more about the relationship between work and themselves.
It has been a joy to see happy clients and personal growth in employees.

Hi, Well here is the short answer...... you have to do 2 things. 1 Be excited about what you do. 2 Go out and meet people who can benefit from your service.  Good luck.  Rob (more) Hi, Well here is the short answer...... you have to do 2 things. 1 Be excited about what you do. 2 Go out and meet people who can benefit from your service.  Good luck.  Rob

Seems that they only care about what the job pays and the companies social standing.  Beginning jobs teach many skills one will need in future. Some examples are, attitude, focus, responsibility, communication and dealing with mundane tedious tasks. These are the most important because if they are not learned.....you can’t move forward to a better job.  Personally it’s up to me to teach and reward these in my culture. It’s deffinalty a different approach to management but it serves my clients and employees. They also stick around for a longer period of time.  That was kinda off the construction topic but hopefully it will help.

(more) Brandon, That’s a complicated question. There are a lot of unknowns that would help get a better answer. But let me give it a shot.  I would start to ask some questions.  What one goal or idea can each one of the employees agree on? This will help earase divisions between shifts.  How can the company transmit that one goal and make it a matter of pride for each person?  As far as making mistakes is concerned......in my company we learn the cause of them..... focus, awareness even a bad attitude will cause us to make little mistakes. We check ourselves everyday. But one thing we do is celebrate the small victories with pics. I receive lots of celebration pics every day. It creates a good vibe that reduces mistakes.  The last thing would be an attitude of serving each other. Once they start really helping each other in a caring way you will have a team or better yet a family.  Upper management really needs to set the standard for serving others. There’s no way around it. The employees won’t care until they are cared for. Then you will have an amazing product.  Thanks Rob

A few things come to mind.  Your service is of value Your people are worth more The real issue is what happened in the last rescission. Companies are used to paying 5-8 bucks an hour for contract cleaning. That will never happen again. STICK TO YOUR PRICE. You and your people work hard for every penny. I tell future clients the only way to cut prices is not to pay insurance or taxes or min wage. I could also make my people clean 10,000-15,000 square feet an hour. Then what kind of service will they have? What kind of business would I have if I don’t pay everyone? I just sent cancellation notices for 2 companies that refuse the new increase because our wages and insurance have increased. I can not clean their building and pay for it to. I did enough of that in 2008-2015. Keep going, never sacrifice quality or value! Rob

Here’s four that popped in my mind.   Servants attitude; they were all about giveing the individual the best tools to get the job done. Creativity; they tailored the training for the needs of the trainee.  Never compromise on quality; This is a hard line on doing it right. Never assuming to know answers to questions before asking the trainee. ie if something happens bad at an account, they always ask for input before coming to a conclusion.  I hope that helps!! Rob

So turn that disagreement into understanding and then respect the other person for standing up for who they are.  If we all believe the same thing......boring!!!! Then go back to all the things they agree on to put it into perspective. People are complex. Never just one thing.  Good luck! I’ve learned a lot through disagreements hope they can to! Rob
