About Us

El Tipico was established by Consuelo & Ezekiel Villa along with their children Francisco and Dina in 1968. El Tipico has always been considered to be a family restaurant serving only the best quality food available. We follow our Mother's recipes and her commitment to fresh ingredients. Including Grass Fed Beef, GMO Free Chicken & Eggs. We do our best to be as chemical free as we can, no preservatives or processed foods. We grow some of our own veggies out back in our gardens. Our kitchen is 95% Gluten Free and has always been Vegetarian & Vegan Friendly. Our Mother loved to bring joy to our patrons through her food & Garden. Fifty years later we continue to share her love & joy of good food with you.

How We Got Started

Our Father Tsgt. Ezekiel Villa & our Mother Consuelo Villa opened El Tipico in March of 1968. Our Mothers passion was sharing her home cooked meals with others. Our Father is the youngest man to have entered the United States Air Force at the age of 14. He was transferred from San Antonio, Texas to Toledo in 1968. Our Mother decided to open a little Taqueria while she waited for our Father to complete his duty in Toledo and eventually move back to San Antonio. Over 50 years later we are still here serving the Toledo Area with love & gratitude.
