As you said, Facebook with picture and story really hits a lot of people. Do you have a special page for your org.? How many "friends" do you have? Be you have a share button and encourage your Board and every friend to share. Also link your Facebook page to Twitter. What is the most successful way to find financial sponsors to help support our local non profit "It's a Breast Thing"?

Your board is your best resource to actively ask their friends, companies where they work, where they shop, bank and have their cars serviced. It's really hard for many people. You might want to add personal stories from the people you have helped. Someone asked this question 2 weeks ago. I would suggest researching non profits in your area to see if your mission already has been saturated. If so, you might want to partner or narrow your scope. (more) Hi Douglas, Growing your board sounds easy as you have good inroads with your faith community. You might be putting too much of a time commitment on a director. Do you have an executive committee? If so what are the expectations of the treasurer? We are lucky to have a CPA, not a board member, that does a lot of pro bono work, a treasurer, part time asst. and an ED. We all work separately which provides safety measures to our financials.
