I can no longer claim my mileage, home office, any computer equipment I have to buy for work or any education I need to do for work. I am in sales so there are quite a few related expenses. If I were a contractor instead of an employee I could still deduct the expenses, but since I’m an employee I cannot. It adds up to over $15,000 in deductions so even with the increase of the standard deduction I’m losing over $13K in deductions due to the tax changes.
