I go for the characters and their struggles with a splash of description. Some times I have skipped pages because the author has gone into to much description and not enough action.

Work with a great editor and then edit again. It's amazing how even the big published authors will have typo's and errors. Mainly don't beat yourself up if there is one, just try harder on the next book. I decided to self-publish my book Angel on Bakeoven Road, (which is book one of two) that I have been working on for seven years. A publishing house was interested but said they had purchased their books for the next two years and it could be another year or two, before they would consider it. Since you have to do most of the promoting yourself, I decided to do it myself. It has been learning experience and I can appreciate what they do behind the scenes. It is not for everyone.
I have just self-published my book - Angel on Bakoven Road and have wondered about that myself. There are so many roads to travel in this publishing business, I applaud those who have gone before and for the help on this site.

I ask a friend. I do not rely on these yelp or Google reviews as people can be ruined when one person doesn’t like something and then you can’t take it off even if you tried to make it right.
