There were a lot of things that I wished in the front of me before I began at Inspiration Ministries. I knew that caring for adults with disabilities would be a life changing experience. What I could not have known was the relationships that were being built along the way before, during, and after the camps. Research was a number one priority for me. Who is interested in camps, where do they come from, was the interested level high? After attending several trade shows for individuals with disabilities, it was clear there was a need. Showing people that you care and will give them your time to address questions and options--goes a long way. Just being yourself and giving people honest, professional, and compassionate advice, when asked, will work many divides for you. We have double the number or people who want to attend our camps by putting ourselves in their shoes.

The CEO of College Church contacted me concerning their Star Program. This is a program where they raise money for the clients who are Adults with Handicap Disabilities for camp each summer. After giving the CEO a tour of our Retreat Center facilities, she decided to inform the families of her clients about our Respite Camps. Eleven out of 15 families sent their loved ones to our camp in 2019, thus making registrations skyrocket and the campers had a GREAT time.
