In my 15 years in community relations, outreaching the vulnerable population, offering services to help with their addiction & the emotional disturbance symptoms, I heard a desire to reconnect to their spirituality. Many people had left the church they grew up in and stepped away from the faith that once kept them grounded. Others had poor religious experiences and rebelled against their structures. Some desire to have stronger faith to persevere through the changes they want to make in their lives; however, they pray daily for help, finding it hard to reconnect with God, restore their relationship with themselves, and receive true healing.
