About Us

Eva opened her real estate company in Washington, DC in 1999 and specialized in turning tenants into purchasers of condominiums, but those purchasers came back to move-up and sell, so now Eva is representing them as sellers! We are also specialized in property management in case they want to come back into their home later or simply keep their first home as a long time investment. UPDATE: EVA joined Equity Hawaii Real Estate in February of 2024 and can find your dream home on Maui and manage it for you until you are ready to move to paradise!

How We Got Started

After being an agent for a couple of local real estate companies in DC, I took GRI classes to become a broker and while making copies at Kinko's frequently near the Van Ness Metro, I had seen an empty space right next to it. The sign said Baskin Robbins, but every time I called, they wanted to sell me their franchise until I finally reached the right guys 6 months later and they were actually looking for someone to take over their lease for the remaining term of 3.5 years. Well, I ended up remodeling that space to an office and stayed 20 years until the entire building was sold. Luckily, we had saved our property management office in Dupont Circle which is now our main office (besides my home, especially these days!) I was always interested in real estate, bought my first place in the South of France when I was in my mid 20's and also worked for a prestigious real estate co. in Monte-Carlo. UPDATE: I AM NOW ALSO LICENSED IN HAWAII, RS-85134

I keep in touch with my clients throughout the year and not just at Thanksgiving. I like to invite them for dinner to thank them for their busines, but Covid put a damper on that last year. Why double the hourly rate in a pandemic? No, I don't believe in it. I do believe that companies should reward people when they do a good job! There is also PMI (private mortgage insurance) if you put down less than 20% (that is an insurance for lenders in case you can't pay in the future....) Don't buy more than what you can afford. The last high was in 2005 and by 2007 and 2008, there were lots of foreclosures. The lender will take the property back from you, but you will not be able to get another loan for years....so don't get homeless!

Every time I started taking one of those online surveys, I stopped after a few questions because they didn't apply and/or I could not answer them. Therefor, the surveys that you do have are not totally correct. As they say, it always depends on who you ask and how you formulate your questions ...
