Twitter has generated no business interest but loads the inbox with political news messages and crime reporting from foreign countries. Both are the biggest waste of time I have seen so far for my business development activities.

If you rent, and the unit starts leaking, you call and they replace it at no extra cost and do not charge for natural gas and water disconnect / reconnect. Sometimes the workers are sloppy though both on the plumbing and mess on carpets etc from rusty water when removing the old tank. I have had good workers and awful ones from the tank rental company. (You can avoid the carpet / floor mess by insisting the workers put down canvas sheets before walking through with boots on, and use a sliding plastic pan under the old unit. ) If you buy a tank, you pay full price for a replacement at say 5 years and also the cost of a plumber to do the connections (can be $150-$200 for the service call) on top of the purchase price. Buying may have a slight advantage on cost if the unit lasts a long time, but the convenience of renting one and needing just one call to get it replaced when it leaks, and no plumbing fees, is a better arrangement, in my opinion. If this level of service with rental firms  is ever cut back or reduced in future, I will re think my options. For now, our tank is currently rented from Reliance (former Union Energy).

Every Saturday is small biz Saturday for me anyway, and has been for years! Business rises and falls regardless of promos people run. If "small biz Saturday" is a widespread promo or sale- I find people are really tired of the endless shenanigans of big box store marketeers with "sales" and "bogo's" that are not legitimate discounts, so I don't offer them. My first half hour of consultation on product design projects is offered free, I have done this for years and people seem to appreciate it. It gives my group and the client a chance to see if their work would be a fit for both. If it is, we start on a positive foot. If it isn't, client is not out of pocket and still goes away with a good impression of our skill set, professionalism, and value proposition, and frequently goes with ideas to improve their business case or product. They often come back a year or two later and we do a project. (on a Saturday or any other day)

For example on a recent project I hired a circuit design specialist to handle the circuit board and an FEA expert to verify the structural strength of the housing vs the specified requirements. By using experts to handle these tasks the result is a better overall design, and we all learn techniques and approaches from each other about the details. The sum is greater than the parts.

They emphasised that it was a one time fix. However, after that first "one time" project, they called many times with progressively bigger projects. It was not expected that one one lead to many others, but it did turn out that way. Word gets around.
