Thankfully - I have never had a one. If it is a significant amount you may choose not to do any additional work until the balance is paid. If the client is important to you and it is not a large amount you may decide to w/o it off but do impress to them that it is a one time deal

Communication become more difficult. Emails and phone calls are slower to be returned. Keep in mind that your clients do get busy and sometimes it is nothing. Follow up and ask the question if all is well.
