Proud to have been voted Most Loved Music Lessons in MetroWest every year since 2017, Karen Amlaw Music (KAM) has been bringing quality music to students of Westborough, Northborough, Southborough, Marlborough, Shrewsbury, Boylston, Holliston, Hopkinton, Millbury, Milford, Upton, Ashland, Grafton, Worcester, and beyond since 2005.
The home of Kids on Keys (a young children's group program for 4 - 8 yr olds), Intro. to Singing for 2nd - 5th graders, Private Lessons in Bass, Guitar, Ukulele, Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Voice, and Percussion; the Young Musicians' Recital Series, monthly Community Showcases, and more, KAM is open Monday thru Friday 2 - 9 PM and Saturdays 9 AM - 6 PM. Ages 4 - 400 welcome - you're never to old to learn.
KAM's over 170 students include multiple young artist competition winners, district and all-state musicians, members of music theater and opera casts, and more.
KAM's instructors have over 150 combined years of experience in the industry as both performers and music educators. Music making is their passion - they take pride in passing on such joys to their students. They are frequently sought after to adjudicate festivals and scholarship / young artist competitions throughout the state and have performed throughout the world in venues from local sporting events to Symphony Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and more - often sharing the stage with fellow nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.
Dedicated to supporting the best musical experience, in every studio KAM students have the opportunity to learn on regularly maintained pianos from some of the best makers in the world including Steinway, Mason & Hamlin, and a beautiful fully rebuilt Ivers & Pond baby grand.
No need for auto-tuning or using other artists' recordings, our students learn to be stars in their own right; to make the most of their talents at whatever their stage of development.
A proud supporter of the arts and education in central MA, KAM has sponsored top prizes in the piano and vocal categories for Worcester Schubertiade's Annual Classical Idol Competition for high school and college students and local performances such as the family concerts put on by the Worcester Chamber Music Society, as well as supports the Westborough FIne Arts Education Association and several other school programs in neighboring towns.
In addition to recitals for current students, KAM hosts Community Showcases, performance opportunities for KAM grads, their neighbors and friends, and anyone else in the MetroWest community who wants to come share their talents - like open mike, but in an intimate setting without the mike. Just one more way KAM will be giving back and contributing to the arts in MetroWest.
