We had a number of clients we had to amend QuickBooks and ADP payroll tax returns for because they did not know they could get Employee Retention Credits, and or Family medical Leave Credits. The good news was some got 10s of thousands of dollars back they did not know they were entitled to the bad news was they had to wait for refunds that would of been money already in their business if they had known at the time they were entitled to them.  Coronavirus Information and Links - RMS Accounting

On another PPP2 requires a sales decrease of at least 25% over the same quarter in the prior year, for all those that don't have detailed accounting records this is going to be difficult to determine let a lone prove.  Just like all the S-Corporation owners that had not taken payroll in the past were burned when it came to PPP those without good books and records may find them self's out in the cold when it comes to proving the 25% reduction.

While we do provide bookkeeping services those services, bookkeeping is a road map to what has happened right now the most important thing we can do for our clients is to help them see the many possibilities the future holds and to plan for all of those possibilities. This includes helping them work out adjustments that may be needed in their business model and sources of capital available both short and long term. We have been providing information and assisting with applications for PPP loans, PPP forgiveness, EIDL and restructuring of current obligations along with other options. Many of our clients are shocked and confused by what is going on and need our help to move forward, protect their assets and get a handle on the changes necessary to survive.

We have also been helping evaluate loans vs. unemployment for self employed clients. In the ever changing environment we have been doing lots of analysis and helping clients with applications, documentation and evaluating loan forgiveness requirements. It's more important that ever before that we assist our clients in evaluating and planning to continue their business and or protect their personal assets. We have also been seeing lots of new clients who have found that their correct professional either does not fully understand their choices or does not provide advice.
