"After trying several different web hosts for my business website, I asked Scott of 100 Percent Helpdesk to take over hosting and maintaining my website. It was such a positive experience to work with both Scott and Ryan. Their personal service and excellent customer care can not be overstated. If I had any questions or concerns, either Scott or Ryan was there to answer them. Any glitches were quickly fixed, any changes I wanted were handled quickly and efficiently. Their personal brand of customer service has continued throughout my experience with them and continues to be one of the things that sets them over and above their competition.
I am a hands on content creator. Simply put, I like to do a lot of changes myself. Ryan has given me the tools to do any content changes I want, and if I didn't know how to do something, he showed me.
It has taken a huge weight off of my mind to know that my website is being run efficiently by 100 Percent Helpdesk. As a person who believes strongly in customer service and professionalism, I can confidently say that you won't be able to find better than 100 Percent Helpdesk. They give a personal touch to web hosting that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else."

Respond to the accusation publicly, making it clear that you are willing to work out a solution. Make sure that you have other reviews that are positive so that you are not stuck with 100% negative reviews. If the review violates terms of use then you can probably get it removed but it may take time. The other two steps can be done immediately. If you are behaving like the good guy and the other party is not then this becomes fairly clear just by what's posted online.
It's hard not to take things personally though, after working hard to do right by a client in the first place.
Interesting question. I'm not sure if you're in the provider space, but I think you are just looking at it from a market research perspective?

Customer perspective is that things are all free because gmail is free, etc. However I find that corporate customers grow up fast and realize they can get more if they pay more.
I talk to a lot of people who are paying low rates, but all the ones who fall for the "$5/month" plan end up paying more, and they usually pay more than their peers.
Hosting itself is a commodity business, but there are opportunities in service. My company approaches it by providing the hosting but bundling other types of support for small business along with, and that often comes as a relief to the business owner. However a business owner who wants to do everything by themselves can get a lower price elsewhere. It's a trade of time for money.
