The Grieving Needs Foundation was founded by Shamieka Bernice Johnson Sims in honor of her oldest sister Brenda Lee Johnson. After Brenda’s unexpected death in January 2013 Shamieka searched for a way to share her memory with others and what better way than to provide help to those in need. This birthed G.N.F which provides help to families who are experiencing grief in one form or another. Grief can come from a lost of clothing, food, money, or shelter. Those who are grieving often just need to know someone cares. Since the foundation started in October 2013 they have provided food and clothing to families in Fairfield County and surrounding areas. The foundation is a 501c3 and registered with the State of South Carolina as a nonprofit.
