Shopify has lots of great features if you're looking to build your audience, your products can publish to facebook and Pinterest easily. There are lots and lots of great add ons, but all of these come with a price. I agree with the sentiment that if $29 is too much, this is a hobby, not a business. If you're looking to grow, Shopify is a great place to do it
