One of my landlords (I have 3) lowered our lease for March and April 2020. I repaid the balance in July and he was shocked saying he didn’t expect it back. I told him I didn’t want his consideration to also be at his expense. I have not asked for another temporary reduction, though I could use it. Instead I’m working harder and doing without a few things to keep my commitments. Not everyone can do this, I understand that. Landlords have overhead too. I’m quite confident this landlord and another (I’ve leased from for years) would reduce my rent if I asked. I guess I feel that’s a last resort. I’m selling my staging furniture inventory to offset losses. Happy to report it’s saving our butts. Good luck to everyone and Happy Holidays!

Personally, there was no silver lining for my business. I am appreciative of the fact that my family and friends stayed well. Business is least important when this illness is destroying lives. But the Silver lining in all this is witnessing the sacrifice that the medical, first responder, delivery, etc providers made to help others at their own peril. Many individuals and neighborhoods United to extend a helping hand to each other. Too bad our government didn’t do the same.

As a professional staging company, we are completely dependent on the real estate community. With listings extremely low, we have been impacted significantly recently. Apparently, things are starting to catch up with all of us. Small business owners built this country but our government has done little to assist us. We are overstocked with inventory and now SELLING FURNITURE to cover our significant overhead. Nice to know at 65 years of age and working all my life , I may be left with no money going into retirement. My heart goes out to all those far worse off and those families struggling just to feed their kids. This country and it’s wealthy can turn this around with their generosity, support of others and a willingness to extend a helping hand. They should ask themselves what their parents and grandparents would have to say about the lack of brotherhood this country has demonstrated. My father was a former POW and would give the shirt off his back and his last penny to help someone in need. He’s gone now, but would be so sadden to see what’s become of this nation. The greatest nation on earth! Good luck to everyone
