In my experience as a small business owner, I can't say WOM is better then SM platforms. When the stars align, the right person will not say no to your offer if it can legitimately solve a problem for them or their business-regardless of how we connect. 

We currently leverage WOM (referral fees), SM (FB), and other organic methods to drive targeted traffic to our digital marketing tools.
