The most common mistake is not to be continuously looking for ways to streamline their business practices.  The great news is nobody needs to constantly reinvent the wheel.

Simply keep yourself, as a business owner/manager alert to what you like in other places of business, narrow what it is that you like about their idea/system/practice and then creatively apply it to your business!
