How We Got Started
I started as a chemist, lead guitarist in an all-girl rock band, backup singer for Tammy Wynette, wrote 2 Top 15 country songs for Debby Boone and in 1987 started writing cookbooks, including a grits cookbook. Based on customer demand, I invented a snack line of cheese biscuits and cookies, Grits Bits. Adding other Georgia goodies, I began designing Georgia-themed gift baskets and welcome bags for corporate events, weddings, conferences and gift-giving.

I wrote a very clear READ-ONLY PDF letter explaining everything I had already sent per their requirements, but that I kept getting requests for more information. I asked for the exact info they needed and delineated all the numbers I had already given with support documentation. I will be curious...

I'm waiting on that before I ask questions as they may be answered in that email. Because I work at home, I couldn't deduct utilities but was able to do business phone and warehouse storage fees. Other than that I allowed a salary which covered the remainder of the loan for forgiveness.

How to get on cooking and home tv shows to demo recipes from my fun cookbooks (a popcorn cookbook, grits cookbook). The market was filled with "home" shows so it was a great way for free promotion/advertising, you just had to figure out how to get on them (1987 -- way before Google ;-).

I am now discovering different marketing avenues but really needed to make up for lost orders with paid-for inventory.
