Our company usually ships larger pieces around the country so we're primarily dealing with trucking companies rather than small package delivery UPS and FEDEX.

The costs are much different in this arena, the cost are based on the following: pick-up costs, packing and palletizing to get shipment ready for long haul delivery, weight and volume of shipment, and of course the value of items in shipment needing to be insured.

Most carriers charge extra for residential deliveries since they usually take longer and lift gates and notification of delivery are all charges.

Business to Business deliveries usually goes smoother and can be less expensive.
