I started the basics of bookkeeping when I was 13 years old.  My mother was a bookkeeper and I started answering phones, filing, and doing simple A/R and A/P tasks.  As I got older, I started working part-time for her employers during the summer and when not in extracurricular.  My knowledge simply grew over time.
