Build trust. There are many ways to do this, and the more ways you do it, the better. Be a good listener. Communicate back the customer's needs. Ask for clarification on anything that seems vague. Help the customer reach understanding or clarity on things that were uncertain. Present solutions that are surprisingly delightful. Communicate constantly and clearly.
