I have been to very strict (many rules and minimums) and very slack (show up when you can) the one i belong to now has rules and attendance requirements but not lead minimums. The group works best when the members get to know each other personally and do things other than business. The energy in the group matters a lot as well. up beat and making sure everyone is comfortable is the key. very few groups are like that.

Thank you Ron - that is what I am trying to build. Camaraderie and support for one another. I agree there needs to be attendance policies, but some groups are far too rigid and don't allow for when life happens. I had a business colleague who was in a BNI and the group had no compassion for when someone in her family became very ill.
