For example, she supplied me with imprinted jar openers for homeowners. They will think of me when they need to open jars. Also Patti supplied imprinted mouse pads that I give to Realtors. That way they will think of me when at their computers. Imprinted pens, letter openers and calendars were also great products I got from Patti. "

Yes!  Out here in Arizona where we can get up to a record 122 degrees, shorts and a polo shirt are my uniform of the day.  Roofs and attics get real toasty too!  I only wear long pants on the few days of winter we have here. Thanks! I've inspected a lot of new homes - there is always something that the builder over looked.  Since 2005, I've never inspected a home that didn't need a repair of some kind. Great question!  To buy a gift from the suggested list is something I can do for myself. The best gift would be to have my family/close friends around me for a little while.  I know everyone is busy with their own life, so it means a lot to share their time with me on dad’s day.  Of course my... I would be happy with some FaceTime too! Thank you!

I use a local lab for fast turn around, less that 24 hours. Although , I am rarely asked for testing.  (more) I use a local lab for fast turn around, less that 24 hours. Although , I am rarely asked for testing.

I only lower by $25.  I call it my "coupon discount".  It doesn't kill me, and it makes the client happy.  I'm really glad it doesn't happen all the time!  Ha! Three things that have worked for me.  1. If you are not working on Saturday/Sunday - hit the Open Homes.  Bring bottled water, snacks, & gum.  Don't be a pest, just wait until the home is empty, introduce yourself.  2. Attend local real estate morning meetings before they go on a "tour" of local homes for sale.  Offer a prize for Agents that put their card in a hat for a drawing.  3. You ever see Realtor's business cards at homes you are inspecting???  These are CURRENT agents - Take a picture of them, later just send them a friendly email that you offer detailed home inspections, maybe offer $25 bucks (or more) off of an inspection for their clients for giving you a try.  One more, don't forget your local chamber of commence. Become a member, attend some meetings, pass cards out, present yourself!  Good luck!

I can tell when I walk in a home to inspect if I’ll be sneezing or not. The ‘norm’ is to have several fragrance emitters in a home on the market to mask normal home smells. As I familiarize myself with the home, I open windows to get fresh air in.  Just part of the job.    (more) I can tell when I walk in a home to inspect if I’ll be sneezing or not.
