About Us

Accent Comfort Services is a home services company with trade licenses in Cooling, Heating, Plumbing and Electrical. We currently employ 31 team members and service a 60 mile radius around Charlotte which includes Hickory, Salisbury, Monroe and Rock Hill. We also service Greenville/Spartanburg in South Carolina. Accent does not pay commissions to our service technicians so the only goal is to take care of the customers needs with an honest assessment of the repairs needed in the home.

How We Got Started

The partners Frank Celeste and Dan Mills fist met while investing in another air conditioning company. In December 2004 Frank and Dan decided it was best to move on from that company and start their own.
As partners their business plan was simple. In all decisions, what was best for Accent would take a priority over their individual needs and in all cases honesty would take a lead roll even at the expense of profits.

Know the actual cost of running your business so your labor price will reflect all your costs. Never let cash flow catch up with you. Always keep enough cash/line of credit around to cover the expenses for those jobs that will pay you down the road.  (more) Know the actual cost of running your business so your labor price will reflect all your costs. I have been a member of BNI for the  last eight years.  My investment is usually returned within the first month through referrals. BNI has consistently brought in an average of $ 60,000 of revenue in just my chapter over an eight year term. We are now involved in three chapters. Right now my largest source of referrals is an organization know as BNI. They are a networking group and we meet every Wednesday. There are several chapters locally. My group in particular has two Real Estate members one for selling and one for buying. They could be a great referral source for you. You can look up BNI on the Web and find a chapter to visit . Mine is in  Huntersville, on Wednesday's.

I tried giving a signing bonus for new employees, and still, not a one good one showed up.

Real estate is a common seat that is filled so you will have the ability to speak on a one to one bases with someone who is there specifically to make contact with other professionals. While there you may consider joining a group. General contracting is a tough seat to fill so learn what its all about, I may just surprise you with leads you didn't think were possible.

It doesn't matter if your the best technician around it will be hard to grow without people recommending you. Once you accept that you can get past the scary phase and concentrate on growing. One suggestion would be to look into BNI in your area. BNI is a business referral network that works great at getting referrals. Each group will only allow one trade to become a member. You will meet with your group of approximately 20-30 members of all different businesses an a weekly bases. They get to know you and trust you which will lead them to recommend you. I have done so well that I am in two groups and at one point I was in four groups. It's the best way to get referrals especially for a new company. You can look them up on line and find a chapter near you. I can tell you my chapter is desperately in need of a handyman. We have been looking for the right guy for two years as are most chapters. There are referrals just waiting. They are an international group so there are chapters everywhere. Good luck

BNI is a referral organization the has each chapter meeting once per week. Its a great way to build relationships with people who get to use there networking abilities to promote your business. There are only one seat per business per chapter so you are not fighting competition. Its a yearly investment of approximately $ 700 but of the 23 members in my chapter everyone has gotten enough sales to offset the expense. I am one of the very fortunate industries that see's an abundant of leads. My income from BNI last year was in excess of $ 60,000 in revenue from just my chapter and we are currently in two chapters. if you would like more information you can e-mail me at fceleste@accentcs.com
