While It seems the internet is everything. In reality it is very impersonal. Join service groups in your area: Rotary, Kiwanis, lions etc. That way you will meet people who know people who could use your services. Also look for a local BNI group. You are allowed to visit each group 2 times before you must join. You can also let it be known you will substitute for existing members when they are out. Now they will restrict how many times you can be a substitute in each chapter. If you are in a good area there should be many groups within an hours drive. Learn to give before you receive. You should have a bug out bag of important papers and some clothes. After call your agent or company to report the claim. The claims adjuster is the person that can answer all your questions. Your agent can not make any promises on claims, that is the adjusters job. If you have issues with your adjuster then call your agent. Hopefully you have a video of your home before the damage happened. It will make your life easier after a claim.
Age is the biggest factor in determining rates. If you are a healthy person you are better off taking large deductible plans and self insuring for the small stuff. In reality in a open market rates should be less than half of what they are.

It is best to be accurate with payroll claims at the begining of the policy period. If you add or delete people you can adjust the payroll. Iif not you will be hit at renewal with a bill for your renewal and also past due from last year. If you have 1099's make sure that you have certificates...
