Most of my clients have moved their 2020 trips to 2021. Only a few have cancelled outright. I am still getting inquires for travel in late 2020, but clients are very cautious at this point. For those that are booking, we are going over cancellation penalties and insurance options in much more...

For those that are booking, we are going over cancellation penalties and insurance options in much more detail. I think it is too soon to push for short term bookings. I've been posting daily on social media, using mostly dream now,travel later ideas, as well as those highlighting the value of using a travel agent.

At this point our we do not charge a planning fee, but will probably begin to do so on a case by case basis, ie: people who have called, picked our brains, and then booked directly on a repeat basis, complex FITs, etc. We do have an air only ticketing fee.

People book themselves because they do not realize the value a professional travel agent brings to the the table. Professional agents have experiences and education that allows them to find the right kind of travel for each of their clients. They save time for their clients because they have the resources to research travel components for each trip and they make sure the travel experience is seamless. In the event of any issues that go away, a travel agent is there to assist the client and advocate for them.
