We are certified personal property appraisers through the global Appraiser's International Society. We serve the public, business, insurance companies and the legal profession in providing all types of personal property appraisals such as: Insurance *Insurance loss* fraud, expert witness *appraisal review* IRS donation and estate appraisals* estate mediation, equitable distribution and probate* divorce equitable distribution* collateral, business inventory, and bankruptcy. In addition, we are also value consultants and offer full service estate consultation and estate sales services. We offer specialty brokering, are agents, representing clients in the sale of high end personal property to major auction houses and on the internet. Cummings & Associates is proud to serve the public with of 3 generations of Appraisers.
How We Got Started
As an antique dealer, I was asked to testify and give depositions concerning value situations for lawyers and the court. I quickly knew my personal experience as a dealer was not enough. Through research I found Elly Rosen who had created along with Van Northern and Morry Fry the educational personal property educational courses that became the standard for all the associations to follow. Accredited since 1986, certified in 1992, I re certified several times under ISA. In 2013 joined AiSociety to take advantage of the advanced education now available again through Elly Rosen, most often considered the foremost authority on personal property valuation and took the full certification program through AiS. My company associates and my commitment is to be the very best value consultants and appraisers for our clients. AiS (AiSociety)'s continuing global education enables our company to be the Best we can be in the service of our clientele.

I keep thinking of all those big and small shops and businesses along the coast that depend on the spring and summer months to make it through the year. They keep moving the goal post, they want to destroy the economy and I think it is all for an agenda of global elite power and control. For the global world government to work, the US has to go down economically and the people have to be squeezed to want to accept govt. control over all. Not happy and shocked how fast this China created virus has cut us down and how we have gone silent and compliant. I pray for America! I pray for the world and what is to come.

Instead of similar or parallel business competing, it is much more advantageous to meld with, work together with others to maximize the best of each other for the benefit of your customers or clients. In appraising, it means calling in specialty consultant valuation experts or trades people. As an antique dealer in the past, I worked to encourage joint advertising and referrals to pool limited resources to maximum benefit to all. Positive action and interaction v negative actions or backbiting to limit others prosperity....I chose positive every time! It saves money, but most importantly you build great relationships.

As a three generation office, I wholly agree with Abel and Sofi. As the older in the group it is hard to pick those times to assert yourself and when to encourage their strengths and innovations. Working together demands mutual respect and when one is having a bad day, not to push buttons and be supportive. Praise all around is a good thing applied often even to us "elders"! Recognize each other's strengths and where in the business each can take precedence. As I get older, I am getting better at taking a back seat when needed and when to offer non critical suggestions. Most important is your personal relationship, it must be maintained at all costs. My daughter and I had to take a break from working together and we both learned much from the experience. Mutual respect, communication, and love is the blend that works.
Not a great choice. I'd rather do my best and be an inspiration to the team, rather than dragging a team down. You can lose and come back, work harder, smarter, and do better.
