Should I pay in advance to a credit repair service? I just contacted one in Orlando and they were requesting me $3000. I wonder if this kind of companies are really capable of helping you with this matter

Just saw this.  Do NOT pay the money.  Go to CreditNerds.com.  Their services are free and they are leaders in the industry.

Absolutely Not. Best bet, negotiate with your creditors yourself. This is not a Quick Fix. It require dedication and commitment on your part and anybody offering you a Quick Fix is looking to take advantage of you. That Fix will most likely devastate your credit further and leave you with less money.

Juan Perezthere are simple ways to increase your credit score within 30-60days.  Even at a 650 credit score you will get a good interest rate to purchase a home.  Use a broker where possible, as they will shop around for you.

That's ridiculous. You can do it on your own, through Experian Boost, or Mint (owned by Quickbooks).  They have a free version, or for a small monthly fee, you get more services. I refer my clients to both free services.  You need NOT pay $3000 to clean up your credit.

Juan...I am with Stanley Brown here - I provide that service for free as well...99% of credit issues you can resolve yourself directly with the credit bureau.  Years ago it took forever - no internet; now, it is easier to do.  You can even dispute errors on Trans Union directly through Credit Karma.

First step, obtain a free copy of each of your bureaus...go to:

www.equifax.com

you can access your free report from all bureaus directly through their link (at the bottom of page it guides you to requesting free report)

Go to Creditnerds.com.  Their credit repair service is free and they are a leader within that industry.

I provide that service for free to help show people how to effectively get themselves out of debt. $3,000 is outrageous!

As an outsider that seems like a red flag to me.

Don't waste your money, instead use it to pay down your debt.
