Any suggestions for a photography business website host?
A client of mine, is looking to do a new website. He would like it if someone else could design it and host it for him. BUT he also would like to upload his pictures, have them edit the pictures and have customers able to buy from website. What does everyone use?

I'm a photographer and a web developer and have build many websites in Wordpress and my current photography website is on SquareSpace. That being said SquareSpace is the best option in his case. Simple and easy to use. I can help setting it up if you need someone to do it, plus since I'm a photographer I can help editing pictures too. Call me anytime xxx-xxx-xxxx
The one I use is Photobiz.com. I can upload photos, change images on the website in minutes. I can put photos (proofing) from an event on the site in a short amount of time. It has a full ecommerce site with it. There are hundreds of templates. You can change a template in a matter of minutes and go live right away. You can check out my site: DonRogers.com
I don't have time to learn more about word press. I can make more money doing photography. I have at least a dozen friends that use Photobiz.com. Their customer service is to die for. They will spend an hour on the phone answering questions with no problem and they follow up to make sure you are doing ok. Hard to find CS like that anymore.
Tell them I sent you... I get a credit of $25. With out that, I would still rec'd them 100%. They are awesome. Good luck.
PhotoBiz is great and eas
We design, built and host websites that include eCommerce applications. The devil is in the details, so we start with a Conversion and Architectural Plan like a contractor starts with a blueprint! The better documentation and thinking through all the details in the beginning, the better website functionality and user experience in the end. If this process is of interest, more than happy to have a free consult to see if we are a good fit. [email address] or xxx-xxx-xxxx ext. 111
I use WordPress. Great for SEO.
Wix is our provider good prices for hosting and nice features to upgrade site easily.
There seems to be 2 services needed here, a web designer/host with e-commerce, and someone to edit photos. For selling photos I highly recommend Sytist, which is a database that you purchase, can be hosted anywhere with your own domain name, is very customizable, has a built in shopping cart, and does not take a percentage of sales. Finding a photo editor is more of a personal preference, they will need to develop a relationship with someone to process the images the way they want.
You can use any or most web host. What your client needs is a good management and shopping cart software for Photography. I can assist with this. If your client use their own software, they will not have to pay any commissions on sales of products. and it can be hosted using their host servers. The software I propose will also let your client add other sellers if they choose, with their own accounts and your client will receive a commission from what their members sell, or the system can be used for just one entity. It will take 2 weeks to setup and be operational. I can be contacted at 347-731=9908 for more information.
Here is an overview of what the software can do:
** photo gallery & shopping cart software installed on your server or hosting space.
** Sell various sizes or formats of the same photo.
** Sell photos, vector art, zip files and more.
** Sell videos
** Sell prints, artwork, products, packages, digital collections and more.
** Built in shopping cart and ecommerce system to accept credit cards and/or check payments.
** Email notifications to both you and the customer upon purchase.
** Customers can instantly download after payment.
** Customers can instantly download their files after payment.
** Connects to PayPal and 2Checkout. Plus support for 14 other payment gateways (PayPal, 2checkout, Authorize.net, Chronopay, Ideal, PayFast, Onebip, Mygate, Nochex, Paygate, Paystation, Plugnpay, Robokassa, Skrill (Moneybookers), Worldpay, Stripe)
** Built in credit system to allow your customers to buy credits.
** Allow your members to upload and sell their photos and other media while you take a commission.
