What are the three most important reasons someone should hire a coach?

Coaches Narrowing it down to 3

Hi guys! Me again.. Hope you're all doing great!! If you had to narrow down to 3 most important reasons why coaching should be experienced, or why coaching is valuable, what would those 3 things be? Accountability is one...and the other 2?

In my mind, people often believe they can get unstuck or find a new way to do things, by themselves.  Leaders often feel that "they will figure it out", eventually. Others when thinking about what's happening in their lives say, "give it time".  Someone getting immersed in a new context - new job, entering University, retiring - may work hard in it with familiar tools when some of their other tools would be better suited to the new context.

And they all might be right and they may all eventually be successful in getting unstuck, figuring out or applying the right tools.

Imagine now that you would like to be intentional about finding a different way to do one of the above.  That you would like your solution to be something you would deem a high quality solution, one that delivers everything you want.  Imagine now that you don't have a year to figure it out and you want to speed up your learning and potentially make fewer mistakes. Or, imagine that you have been at it for a year and you haven't figured it out.  Guess what?  It's time to hire a coach!

Working with my clients, the things I hear the most include, "[client] that was easier than I expected" or "[sponsor] we've seen a change in behaviour and results already" or, "[colleague] that person just came up with something I never expected to hear from them - that was their coaching right?"

Coaches will hold you accountable to yourself [this is big for some of us who delay, avoid and procrastinate, a bit]. They will devise plans with you to find and make choices, act, reflect and learn so that you can be intentional and focused about getting the results you want in the way you want!

many very good precise answers

I would confirm:

1 accountability

2 best practices  (knowledge transference)

don't have a word for third one but it was explained by a dear deceased friend from Toastmasters:

Bob was long-timer in TM.  An English major in college and wrote technical manuals for his work.  Bob would stand up and greet guests to club meetings and say: "What I love most about TM is I get to stand up and hear what I'm thinking."

3.  Activating the client's mind by having a listener.  Thinking out loud with a dedicated listener stimulates a creative process in the mind of the client.

Accountability - a good coach helps you stay on track to achieve the goals and dreams you said you want to achieve

Expertise - it's so much easier when you do not have to reinvent the wheel. Find a coach who has broken through the mental blocks that are dogging you. If she has done it, she can help you do it.

Transformation - find someone who takes a stand for the higher version of you that you want to live into, but are scared to. Find a coach who believes unwaveringly in you, and is able to help you identify and reframe your negative, disempowering beliefs and habits so that you are unstoppable and discover the freedom and pleasure in being your self.

  • Coaching is valuable for the following 3 reasons: To grow yourself in skill, knowledge and ability; 2.to grow your business in a effective and efficient manner; and 3. to grow your profitability in ways you may have not considered from your biased viewpoint.  Contact Strategic People Solutions for serious coaching.
  • We all have blind spots that we need to work on with a coach

Coaches help us move into our sweet spots

Coaches help us accelerate personal and professional growth with repeatable systems

    You hire a coach when:

You have something big and important you are committed to achieving with urgency. Ideally, that goal should stress and challenge you beyond one or more of your skills and comfort zones.

You have the self-awareness to admit that you are the number one obstacle to overcome and at the same time, the one thing you have the most control over.

You are willing to be vulnerable enough to accept feedback and direction.

Then you are ready to engage a coach and get value from the experience.

Clarity, Clarity, Clarity;  This is what it is all about.  As a Coach, I feel my job is to work with a client to find where and when they are resourceful and then map that over to the rest of their life.  Once they are resourceful we can move to awareness.  by bringing a different perspective to a client's unique model of the world; a Coach can invite the client to view their life situations in different and unique ways that will encourage and support them to have the life that they envision when they are quiet and at peace.

Goal setting and honest feedback along with accountability. It's easy to justify not accomplishing your daily, weekly or monthly goals, when "you got too busy" or "you ran out of time, " too busy putting out fires. Holding someone accountable, and providing honest feedback when avoiding activities are two of the most important parts of being a coach.
