Gordon, A Logo is an expression of you and your business. Have you considered doing it yourself? It is really not that difficult. Additionally, there are several design software programs available that you could use. This might be another way to do this and not have to spend much money.
We also do that sort of work, specializing in small businesses. But we keep in mind that a logo have to be sufficiently clear and memorable that it should work the size of a thumbnail in an email or website, crisp on a letterhead, crafted into metal for your foyer, or on the side of a truck or bilboard - and look good in all of those usages.
