Do you agree with this quotation?

If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you'll achieve the same results.

-Tony Robbins

I agree with the quote, but I would replace the word "copy" with the word "model".

What do you guys think?

I concur... Can't agree with "copy" Because everybody's journey is different... Model is the key word.

I agree with you. Never copy, always emulate.

In my business, web design that is ever progressing and changing, I don't think that is possible.

Why bother with Tony Robbins - I'm amazed anyone listens to him - every business is unique and challenging and Tony isn't gonna save the day or get you business - you are :)

i do not agree. Just as everyone is different, everyone's path to success is different as well.

I  do believe there are things to be learned from competitors as well as pears in just about any space. However, unless someone is going to open their books and their systems to you, you will not really know exactly what they are truly doing.

So if you are looking for a precise formula for success to follow, honestly at that point I  think you are looking for a franchise. Because essentially that is exactly what a franchise is.

I agree with replacing the word "copy" with "model". There's so much more that goes behind success that just the "doing/mechanical" part of it. The "why" for the person has to be the motivation behind your success and the "why" may not be the same as the person you are "copying". That's why, I feel, "modeling" is a better fit because it allows you to put your own stamp on it and feel your own motivation!

I prefer the word "study" instead of copy or model but the statement rings true in the "fortune cookie" sense
