Do you agree with this quotation?

If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you'll achieve the same results.

-Tony Robbins

I agree with the quote, but I would replace the word "copy" with the word "model".

What do you guys think?

Yes and No. A formula or recipe or equation are solutions to a specific result. So Yes, I could copy those types of things and expect to achieve the same or similar results. But if I tried to be sarcastic like this guy from Corporately Incorrect I would not be successful at all because I just don't have that kind of personality. Even though I really like that kind of flip delivery and totally enjoy the humor in it, it's not going to work for me in the long run. So that's my No.

No ...even if you model after what they do the results will not be the same. People are different, their thinking is different. What it come down to is talent, some are born with it, some it has to be taught, others just don't have it ... well thats not true, everyone has a talent but not the same talent and all talents in a particular field are not the same level. What we all are given are gifts, and you can only profit from a gift if you use it. You can use what a person done before you as a guide but only if you based on your talent level can make it a success. Gifts are not just entertainment, gifts are what you do best ... its natural ... when combined with talent it's special.

Finding your voice within your higher self is important. Taking the tools of success others have achieved and recreating them to fit the true authentic you is also important.

Depending upon the definitions of successful vs results, I would tend to agree.  My success definition might be one thing and I see a lot of people that have achieved results in their own definition of success.

For instance, my success goals are twofold: 1) earn sufficient money to be able to make sure every single person in my family downline can retire, quit their job if they want, get a college degree paid for.  And that includes my grandchildren and great grandchildren not yet born.  and, 2) be able to charter an airplane to go visit each of my children and grandchildren, their kids, dogs, cats, and whatnot. Oh, and stay in the presidential suite of a 4 or 5 star hotel relatively close by and include a chauffeured vehicle (doesn't need to be a stretch).

That ought to do it until the money runs out or doesn't.

I don't agree. Have you ever heard the word "one man's meet is another man's poison"? The reason politicians differ in opinions is because people think differently and we will appeal to those who think closer to what we think. My success may therefore be achieved in a different manner from the way you achieve yours. That's where originality also comes in. Think about it!

I don't 100% agree, because there are also factors such as timing and the environment you are operating in, etc. But there's no need to reinvent the wheel... find someone who has done what you are doing or that is similar and stack the deck in your favor and save time by learning lessons from them. No person and/or situation is always 100% the same as another, so you can't 100% "copy what they do".

I do not agree. There are too many variables involved. Brand and identity of your company vs theirs. Ideal customer vs theirs. Investment vs theirs. Products vs theirs. If copying another business model you also need to determine why you are different or better. Etc etc etc.

He just is a little salesy for me, and overly excited about everything to the point it almost seems fake.  Also anybody that endorses copying somebody else I am not going to raise up a flagpole.  I am all about bushwhacking your own path.
